Family of parts produced with only one tooling setup

April 2017

We have just purchased a new Star ST-20. This machine has been purchased to produce a specific family of parts for a specific customer. It is so versatile that we can now produce an entire family of part with only one tooling setup by simply selecting a new program. This also frees up between 2 and 3 other machines that were previously required to make this family of products.

The purchase of a new Star SR32J type N supplements the capabilities of our existing range of star machines.

Spindle diameter capability increase to 64mm

Dec 2016

We have just purchased a new Miyano ABX 64THY as a replacement for our previous Miyano. The increased through spindle diameter (64mm) compared to the old machine (50mm) allows us to be more flexible and it now matches the through spindle capacity of the rest of our fixed head, multi turret machines.

Increase in sliding head capacity

Nov 2016

Purchased as an addition to our existing capabilities and providing more sliding head capacity at 38mm (158”), the Star SR38 type B has allowed us to take on a number of new clients. This work would have exceeded the available time on our existing larger diameter fixed head machines and our 38mm sliding head machines.

New machine does the job of two

June 2016

Purchased as a replacement for our old QT10, the new Mazak QT-Compact 200MY with live tooling and a Y-axis, allows us to do on one machine parts that were historically done on two separate machines. Reduction in setups and removing a transfer step allows more efficient machining and more accurate finished parts.
